DESCRIPTION
The AlpinistBag has been in research and design for the past 30 years. This unique sleeping bag is designed for serious alpinism and is unlike any other sleeping bag presently offered.
A waterproof exterior with a reflective interior designed to reflect heat back towards the body. A hybrid of both European down and synthetic fill is a first for a sleeping bag. The concept being the synthetic fill is on the base of the bag that still insulates when compressed and even wet. Down sleeping bags are always cold at the base of the bag when the down is compressed. The upper section is high quality European down fill.
The hood has been removed to save weight and bulk as the bag is designed to be used while wearing a hooded parka. No side zipper reduces weight and increases insulation values. A draw cord with a large interior baffle, seals and insulates the opening around a climbers’ neck.
Another unique feature of this bag is the strategically placed aqua seal zippers all with interior baffles.
Two high side zippers allow a climber to have their arms outside the bag whilst still inside the bag. Perfect for using a hanging stove without getting out of the sleeping bag.
A center placed zipper allows a climber to sleep with a harness on and have the rope attached to it passing into the sleeping bag and being sealed by the two-way zippers.
A lower zipper allows the bottom of the bag to open allowing a climber to wear boots inside the bag and still have contact with the ground in precarious bivouac situations.
